उत्तर प्रदेश के मेरठ में एक अत्यंत साधारण एवं आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर परिवार में जन्मे डॉ. एंथनी राजू का जीवन संघर्ष, साहस और दृढ़ संकल्प की प्रेरणादायक कहानी है। मात्र 12 वर्ष की आयु में उन्होंने परिवार का सहयोग करने के लिए समाचार पत्र, सब्ज़ियाँ और आइसक्रीम बेचने जैसे छोटे-छोटे कार्य किए। कठिन परिस्थितियों के बावजूद उन्होंने अपनी शिक्षा जारी रखी और जीवन का लक्ष्य बनाया—हर व्यक्ति को न्याय दिलाना, चाहे उसकी आर्थिक या सामाजिक स्थिति कुछ भी हो।

 

आज डॉ. एंथनी राजू आपराधिक मामलों, संवैधानिक वादों, POCSO मामलों, जमानत, CBI, ED, NIA तथा अन्य जटिल मामलों में अपने गहन कानूनी ज्ञान, प्रभावशाली पैरवी और न्याय के प्रति अटूट समर्पण के लिए जाने जाते हैं।

 

अदालत की सीमाओं से परे, उन्होंने अपना जीवन विश्व शांति, मानवाधिकार, महिला सशक्तिकरण, युवा नेतृत्व, विधिक जागरूकता और सामाजिक न्याय को समर्पित किया है। उनके नेतृत्व ने भारत सहित अनेक देशों में हजारों लोगों को न्याय, संवैधानिक अधिकारों और मानव गरिमा के प्रति जागरूक किया है।

डॉ. एंथनी राजू आज भी अनेक जनआंदोलनों का नेतृत्व कर रहे हैं। वे भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त भारत आंदोलन, राष्ट्रीय गरीबी मुक्ति मोर्चा, पुलिस सुधार आंदोलन, न्यायिक सुधार आंदोलन तथा सुशासन एवं जवाबदेही से जुड़े अभियानों के प्रमुख समर्थक हैं। उन्होंने अवैध पुलिस हिरासत, कस्टोडियल टॉर्चर, कथित फर्जी मुठभेड़ों, दहेज मृत्यु, महिलाओं के विरुद्ध हिंसा, भ्रष्टाचार, मानवाधिकार उल्लंघनों तथा अन्याय के विरुद्ध निरंतर आवाज़ उठाई है और संविधान के अनुरूप निष्पक्ष जांच, विधिसम्मत प्रक्रिया तथा समान न्याय की वकालत की है।

 

उनका मानना है कि न्याय केवल अदालतों तक सीमित नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि समाज के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक पहुँचना चाहिए।
